Forgery #3 - Sarah Hayes 1737 Sampler Kit

Sarah Hayes - Sampler made in the 9th year of her age - 1737. Along with the alphabet, verses and family initials, this sampler boasts a wonderful flower pot with oversized flowers. The following three verses also appear: “When I am dead and laid in grave this work in hand my friends may have”; “Love the lord and he will be a tender father unto thee”; “Learning is an ornament and virtue is most excellent”.

Finished Size: 8 1/4” x 8 7/8”

Fabric: 32 count Sandstone Linen

Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Tent, Montenegrin, Satin Stitch, Rice Stitch, and Stem Stitch.
