 The Queen’s Miniature Portrait Kit

Portrait miniatures first appeared in European royal courts in the 16th century and flourished during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. They were private images that were designed to be kept close at hand. The miniature portraits were often housed in jewelled lockets or wood frames, which were either worn or kept in private cabinets such as needlework caskets, along with other precious objects.

I wanted to recreate a miniature portrait but I can’t paint! So I decided to create one in needlework. This kit will provide you with step by step instructions and all the materials needed to make this needlework miniature.

Needlework Area Size: 1 1/8” x 1 1/2”
