The US Government will be removing the ‘de minimis’ rule for goods entering the United States as of August 29, 2025. This means that all goods shipped to the United States may be subject to a 35% tariff.
My products should be exempt from the tariffs under the USMCA free trade agreement. I am exploring how to document and implement shipping my kits and books exempt under USMCA. I hope this can be resolved and that I can resume shipping to my US customers soon.

The Fire Casket Keepsakes Kit
is a blend of storytelling, history, and stitchery.
In the days before safety matches, fire was born from steel, flint, and char cloth—all safely tucked inside a compact tinder box. This richly detailed needlework kit lets you create your own historical interpretation, complete with the flame painted box, engraved base, and a dimensional embroidered lid featuring a raised-work salamander—long symbolic of creatures impervious to fire.
Learn new stitching techniques to create the bold raised-work salamander. Create a spark with the fire-making tools; flint, steel and char cloth.
This needlework kit includes everything needed to recreate a richly detailed tinder box (see materials kit listed below) with complete detailed instructions. Supplied in the kits are the hand-made Steel Strike made the traditional way, that I sourced tspecifically for these kits. I have a stash of vintage threads that I have acquired over the years. I enjoy incorporating these threads to give pieces a more a vintage appearance that cannot always be replicated with modern threads. I have used two vintage threads in this kit, Embezzled Metal Thread and Web of Deceit Trim.
