The Winders’ Keeper offers countless learning opportunities in one project.
The chart, stitch diagrams and instructions are in a black & white PDF, which you can print for easy reference. Registration also provides a link to a password protected Tutorial Website containing step-by-step photos and some video clips to guide you through the complete project. This will provide you with a virtual hands-on experience of participating in a needlework class. For those that wish to print some or all of the color photos from the website, a downloadable PDF for all of the stitching and finishing instructional photos shown in the Tutorial will also be available. There is a Journal on the Tutorial Website where I will post notes on my inspirations for the design, supplementary historical information related to the project, answer student questions, and post project pictures submitted by students.
Class will include the instructions and materials for the embroidery for the Winders’ Keeper and Pinball. The materials kit will include:
- linen (32 count)
- ‘Fibers to Dye For’ Smooth Operator Silk Thread
- tapestry needle
- ‘Fibers to Dye For’ Smooth Operator Silk Thread
- silk lining
- hand-dyed wool needle felt
- ‘Fibers to Dye For’ Rough Character Silk Thread (for eyelets)
- ‘Fibers to Dye For’ Twisted Personality Silk Thread (for drawstrings and edging)
- three sizes of chenille needles
- interfacings
- pinball stuffing material
- crystal bead pins
- special paper for Silk Winders
- color photo of project
Kit will be mailed upon completion of your order and a uniquely assigned username and password will be emailed enabling access to the Tutorial Website.
The Tutorial can be done at your own pace. You will be notified before the Tutorial Lessons are removed from the site, allowing you to print what you will need for future reference.
There are a limited number of kits available, registration will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The total tutorial fee of $275.00 + shipping will include the kit with all the materials needed to complete the Vierlande Winders’ Keeper, access to the password protected Tutorial Website and printable instructions.
