Forgery #15 - Polly Whitlock 1840 Sampler Kit

A whimsical sampler with similarities to a young child’s first reader. Uniquely adorned with juvenile motifs of birds, animals, insects, flowers, houses and heavenly bodies, which are all labeled with simple lettering. I find it ironic that Polly was 38 years old when she worked this sampler!

Finished size:  13 5/8" x 14"  
Fabric: 40 count Natural Linen  

Stitches Used: Cross Stitch, Half Cross over four, Smyrna Cross, Four Sided, Tied Cross and Double Running.
